I have a new addiction. There’s this simple little app called Wordswag that I just can’t keep away from. It lets you enter quotes/sayings/phrases/whatever, choose a background from a ton of free images or upload your own, and then generates beautiful typography from it. It is a fantastic way to make posters for your classroom, or images for your blog. Lately I’ve been pairing it with lines from some of my favorite books, as well as some bits of poetry I am fond of. If you love playing with images and typography, this is the perfect app. While it’s not free, I find it well worth the cost. The only downside is that it’s currently only available for iOS. I am fervently hoping that they release an Android and/or Web version, especially since I just switched from iPhone to Android. Below are some samples of posters I have created with it. Yes, I read some odd books, and I am also utterly enamored with the Welcome To Night Vale podcast.
