Our fourth graders are studying animal classification, and one of the teachers asked if I could come up with a STEM lesson to go along with their unit. After browsing through a ton of ideas (thank you, Google and Pinterest!) I put together a lab where students will classify aliens into kingdom, phylum, and class.
