My kids have been working like crazy on their Extraordinaires Design Challenges. After meeting with other teams to get feedback on their designs, they had a chance to make final modifications to their designs. Next, it was time to start making their final design sketches. These are the large, full-color designs of their product that they would show their customer for approval before starting the prototyping stage. We discussed multiple sketching techniques that can help convey detail and information, and students were encouraged to show multiple views of their product as well as lots of annotations. Each team got a large sheet of craft paper, and then they were off! I have to say, their designs are really coming to life now!
