My STEM Lab is almost ready to officially open, and I’ve been spending a lot of time looking for ideas and lessons to use once we open the doors. In the course of my searching, I’ve come across a few awesome sites that deserve sharing out.
For those of us on a budget, Toys From Trash is very comprehensive site with tons of activities for students organized by subject. From biology to math, and everything in between, you can find simple, low cost projects for your classroom.
The Field Museum in Chicago has a wonderful collection of activities and lessons based around their biomechanics exhibit. These are very detailed lesson plans that include the Next Gen Science Standards, resources, and worksheets. Definitely worth checking out!
And finally, since teachers are always operating on a budget, check out this great blog post on stocking your STEM lab with items from the dollar store! You’d be amazed at all the useful things you can get for a dollar!
