Google-Classroom-Banner

This week, I began setting up teacher accounts on our student GAFE domain for those who had expressed interest in using Google Classroom.  I love watching how tools like this begin to spread organically.  When I first brought up Classroom to my colleagues, there were just a handful who were interested.  Once my pilot group began implementing it, though, interest in using it doubled, then trebled.  I opened my email this morning to a veritable swarm of requests for a Classroom account, and for training on how to implement and use it.  I set up a large group of teacher accounts a few hours ago, and was thrilled to have a colleague call down to my lab a few minutes ago to let me know she and her class were already using it, and to share how easy it was to set up and get started with it.  That kind of enthusiasm and excitement when I introduce someone to a new way of using technology more than makes up for all the little frustrations in my job.  It’s moments like that that remind me why I love what I do so very much.  I cannot wait to see how Classroom changes the way my district teaches.  It’s going to be an amazing journey!

If you are getting started with Google Classroom, I highly recommend Alice Keeler’s blog posts on it!
