This gets filed under ‘You learn something new every day.’  It’s funny the little things you can learn that make such a big difference.  I’ve been using Google Drive for years now, and I’m well versed in how to upload documents and have Google convert them to Drive format during the upload process.  What I wasn’t aware of was the ability to convert already uploaded files to Google format.

This can be accomplished in four easy steps.

1. Select the document(s) you want to convert from your main document menu.

2.  At the top of the screen, click MORE.

3.  Select OPEN WITH.

4. Select GOOGLE DOCS (or SHEETS, or SLIDES)

That’s all!  You now have a converted document that you can edit in Google Drive.
